Our Process
How does this work, anyway?
Whether this is your first experience with stone countertops, or you are a seasoned vet, here are some simple tips on what to expect throughout the process.
Feel free to call our office with any questions you may have regarding the logistics of your project.
If you are installing new cabinets, ask your cabinet maker for a copy of your layout. If you are replacing existing countertops, simply make a drawing of your layout showing dimensions, walls and appliances. Bring this information along when you visit us.
Material selection can be a daunting process, mostly because there are so many beautiful choices!
The first step is to decide which type of material is best for your lifestyle and taste. We are more than happy to help by outlining out the pros and cons of granite, Quartz and other stone options.
Second, you will select the specific stone or Quartz color. You can do this in our office, or – in the case of natural stone – by visiting the warehouses of our suppliers in Spokane or Seattle. Once you have decided on a material, we’ll confirm options such as edge detail, backsplashes and sinks.
When all the details are in place, we will promptly provide you with an honest, up front estimate based on your dimensions and selections.
The fabrication process begins with a template appointment. Detailed measurements and digital templates will be made on site, and the specifics of your project will be discussed to ensure that the end result meets your needs. Cabinets must be fully installed prior to templating. At this time, fixtures and appliances should be available on site.
Next, the slabs you selected will be transformed into your countertops by our team. On average, the turnaround time between templates and installation is from 2 to 3 weeks. Installation takes only a day (or two, in the case of a full height backsplash). Installation is a relatively clean process, but you should expect some disruption and a bit of dust.
We strive for excellency in all phases of this process, including customer care after installation. We are always happy to answer any questions you may have regarding maintenance or cleaning. Plus, we love feedback from our clients!
